Pentagon Warns We Have To Get Off This Planet

Remember the book and film The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. In it eventually, mankind had to leave the Earth and colonize Mars to survive. A great piece of science fiction writing, but what if this book were now becoming a reality. Could the earth be in danger of extinction? It’s something that no doubt some of us don’t want to contemplate or even discuss. For others, it’s something that is just brushed aside. However, there have been many who claim that for mankind to survive it might require venturing away from the Earth to another habitable planet.

Notable individuals such as Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk have both made statements at one time or another about the fact that due to factors such as global warming it’s just a matter of time before the Earth could become uninhabitable. Now it would seem that a top Pentagon official is also backing this claim that it’s just a matter of time before the Earth may no longer be able to sustain life. The deputy undersecretary of the Air Force Winston Beauchamp was quoted as saying at a summit in Washington DC

“There is an erosion of some of the commonly accepted standards and norms, and there’s concern about that as folks around the world have tried to find advantage find seams. That’s part of the reason why we want to codify our norms and behavior in space because it is such an important domain, not just for us but for humanity.”

But with this statement we now have to wonder if steps are already being taken to do just to leave the Earth for colonization elsewhere. It’s a noted fact that there is serious talk of a group colonizing Mars in an experimental program to see if life could actually go on there. There is also talk of another planet beyond our solar system that closely resembles the Earth in appearance as well as atmosphere. So, it would seem that researchers are already looking beyond the Earth for a place for mankind perhaps to live. Maybe it won’t happen in our lifetime, but one day in the distant future we never know the Earth may no longer be the home of mankind. /SOURCE
