Simple Tricks to Remove Pesticides
Wash Your Food Right
You can remove almost 75-80% of pesticides washing fruits and vegetables with cold water. However, if you want to try a different, more positive way, wash fruits or vegetables with salt water. This will remove pesticide deposited on their surface. This is especially important for some fruits such as apples, grapes, plums, peaches, pears, mango, guava and vegetables such as tomatoes.
Make a mixture of 90% water and 10% white vinegar. Soak the vegetables or fruits into the mixture. Stir thoroughly and rinse. However, be careful while washing fruits such as berries or fruits that have a thin crust. The vinegar may damage their porous outer skin.
Blanch and Peel
Wash your vegetables or fruits with hot water. You will remove the pesticides in a short time. Peeling is another effective way to remove the pesticides and is highly recommended for those fruits that have cracks. Unwanted pesticides easily penetrate into those cracks. We recommend that if you cook some chicken-food; make sure to remove excess fatty skin, because it absorbs unwanted pesticides.
